Change, Cats and Dogs. Oh, my!

Cat dogMy house is in the process of getting a new walkway and front windows.

Yay, renovations!

You'd think this would be exciting, right?

Well it is, but only for the humans who live here.

The dog and cat are traumatized by all the noise and the construction people.

The dog is upset because she can't go out every ten seconds and greet the guys who are working. She's a social butterfly and to her having someone in the front yard and not being allowed to visit with them and get attention is VERY upsetting.

The cat is just pissed because they are breaking up the concrete out front which is causing the whole house to shake which means he can't sleep all day.

Because both my pets’ lives are in turmoil so they have both been camping out in my office so that they can share their displeasure in loud tones with me.

Which leads me to the conclusion today that my pets are EXACTLY like my children.

Yes, everyone here is VERY needy when their routine in upset – animal or human.

And this?

This makes me tired and uh, slightly cranky because I have WORK to do.

So, pets?

Deal with it.

Either that or you're going to starting finding Valium mixed in your kibble.

You've been warned.

  1. Our Aussie/Lab mix is so afraid of thunder she has seizures (we’re talking serious cowardice/neuroticism), so we have a Diazepam prescription for her. I’d send some along if our governments weren’t so stuffy about sending tranquilizers through the mail….

  2. My spouse and I absolutely love your blog and find the majority of your post’s to be just what I’m looking for. Does one offer guest writers to write content for you personally? I wouldn’t mind writing a post or elaborating on a few of the subjects you write with regards to here. Again, awesome website!

  3. Please let me know if you’re looking for a author for your blog. You have some really good articles and I think I would be a good asset. If you ever want to take some of the load off, I’d love to write some content for your blog in exchange for a link back to mine. Please send me an e-mail if interested. Cheers!

  4. Great blog. Congrats on your renovations, poor pets. My daughter just brought home a stray cat and is begging to keep her so I have been doing research on cats, that is how I came across your post. The only problem is I don’t know anything about cats. Like are there special vitamins that cats have to take and is it possible to turn a stray cat into a house cat? Ever since we had that cat in the house she freaks out every time the heater, dishwasher or the washer and dryer are on. Have you ever dealt with anything like that?
