I’m done with house cleaning…

I seem to spend
more time cleaning my house in the summer then in the winter.

When school is in session I shove everyone out the door early, tidy up
the house, throw in a load of a laundry and then get on with my day. With everyone gone, my house stays fairly neat and clean.

But, during the summer months, when everyone is home during the day my
house is a mess all day long. Now that it's August my house is a disaster and my patience with my family over it is gone getting shorter.

So, I've decided to end my summer vacation on a positive note by rewarding
myself for all my hard work.

Today I've cleaned my house from top to bottom and I think I deserve a treat for all the toilets I’ve scrubbed, sinks I’ve
wiped and rooms I’ve vacuumed.

And, my treat of choice?

Yep, I'm going to spend the last few weeks of summer sitting on
my cottage dock with a drink and a book looking at this view.

I might even nap.

I'm NOT going to clean.

How about you? Do you treat yourself to a special indulgence after
you tackle your chores? How often do you reward yourself for all of your hard work?

  1. I hear you sister. I am at the end of my rope with cleaning this house. I’ve reached the same sort of conclusion as you. I really don’t care what it looks like between now and Labour Day. Once they’re back in school, life returns to normal (sort of). Enjoy the last lazy days of summer.
