Being Female · Me

I'm thinking about having a mid-life crisis.

You know, the life changing kind, where you get rid of everything around you that's negative and you do whatever you want for a change.

If I was a man it would mean chucking my job, getting a younger wife and buying a red sports car and a bachelor pad in the city.

Since I'm a middle-aged woman however I don't want any of those things.

I do not need any new men in my life – not even a boy toy, I am not interested in cars and I don't need another place to clean and furnish.

Although it might be nice to have a new place that my family isn't allowed to mess up.

But, I'm still wondering what a mid-life crisis looks like for an unappreciated married mother of three.

Any suggestions?

And yeah, I do think there's a book in this idea or at the very least, a new blog….

  1. When I turned 30 I had a mini crisis that involved making a list of everything I always wished I had done or learned how to do, and then trying to knock it all off. It was fun and worth it, but at the same time, I could never do that today because I just don’t have the time to take on 10 new hobbies. It’s funny how mid-life crisis for a man means chucking everything out, but for a women perhaps means taking on a whole lot more extra work :).
