Daughters

Twelve is a special number….

I feel like we got back from a wonderful vacation week and stepped right into a hurricane.

We've got a busy March going on here and April looks like it's going to be even worse. Music activities, sport activities, deadlines for work and just life stuff all seem to need my time and attention right now.

But today? Today I will pause for a minute to celebrate my daughter's birthday.

You see, today my little girl is twelve.

Twelve.

She's no longer my baby and that makes me sad.

She's getting taller, she gaining more confidence and every day she's growing more beautiful.

And silly.

Yeah, she's my silly one.

She's also entering those tough pre-teen and teen years where she'll be trying to figure out who she is and what she wants from life.

The next few years will be a wonderful, crazy and hormonal ride.

Yeah, I said the h word.

I can't wait to see how these hormonal influences are gonna change things around here. Sigh.

Happy Birthday Lizzie.

I love you very much.
