600 Reasons why Moms Drink – Reason 102

We have a rule in our house that things should get packed up for school the night before so that in the morning we're not running around looking for school stuff when we're trying to get out the door.

For the record? I get nasty when I have to run around and find the kid's stuff when we're trying to get to school on time.

My kids hate this rule. They think I'm nagging them. Well, I am.

Because, no matter how hard I try…

I tried to draw my head exploding here too, but it just looked kinda strange.

Sigh.

  1. OMG – I’m the same way! It’s like the Navy Seals around here he night before school with backpacks laid out and snacks packed.
And yet my head still explodes every morning. *sigh*

  2. One of the things I *LOVE* about the BoyChild’s school is that every month or week or sometime period they have a “theme;” one time it was patience, another it was responsibility, another time it was respect for others. I don’t know when they talk about it, but they spend a lot of time talking about these things and give awards/gifts/prizes when they “catch” the kids doing these things. I know this because my son got two gifts for being “patient” which isn’t his strong suit. When they were doing “responsibility” he gripped at me because *I* didn’t get something into his back pack. I turned that responsibility talk on him and he finally admitted it was his responsibility but I was suppose to help keep him organized. He’s not complained to me that I didn’t get something in his bag since. I really love his school!

  5. I’m finally able to access your blog – for some reason “big brother” here deemed anything on the networkedblogs.com site as not good for me 🙂
LOL – I can totally relate to this and YES – nasty mom does come out when I too have to run around in the morning trying to get them ready 🙂
