Soul Mates? Nah.

I've seen a lot of advertising for Valentine's Day that talks about spending this special day with one's soul mate.

I love my husband. He's a great person, we've been together for twenty-four years and we've been married for almost nineteen years.

My husband and I don't refer to each other as soul mates though, we call each other, 'cellmates'.

Yep, the hubby and I are in this for the long haul, these kids, this mortgage, these car payments – it's a life sentence.

Besides, what the heck is a soul mate anyway? Isn't that someone we're supposed to be spending our lives looking for and NEVER finding?

My cellmate? He's here day in and day out, helping with kids, making meals, paying bills and emptying the dishwasher.

I'll take my cellmate over some lost soul mate any day.

So, Happy Valentine's Day, TiredPapa

I love you.

And thanks for um, doing time with me.

  1. I have to agree with you. I don’t believe in soul mates but I do believe that I found the perfect match for me. Our personalities mesh perfectly but I don’t feel like my soul was yearning until I met him. I love him but life was pretty darn good even before he entered it.

  2. This reminds me of a greeting card I bought for Hubby years ago. I don’t remember what it actually SAID, but the picture was of a ball & chain, but the links were heart-shaped. It was sweet, but also acknowledged the “cellmate” aspect. We framed it.

  3. [url=http://sikis18.org/%5Dzetaclear or fungisil[/url] Over the past five years, zack’s had repeatedly said that, not to Facebook listed. Some in the industry think even, Facebook might never listed. This situation to Facebook employees bring trouble. But, with the approach of the listed on Facebook, this problem will disappear.
Charlie: but, how can you judge ready?
