Just be nice

When I spend all my time and money getting my daughter ready for her graduation and running her around to all the fun events that are happening for her, isn't there some sort of rule that says she has to be nice to me?

I deserve better than this.

Arrrrgh.

  1. Psst, I can report she’s nice ABOUT you. She’s also completely on board with publicly crediting you first if she accomplishes anything significant (good house rule!). In the meantime, oh yes, we mothers are seriously taken for granted.

  2. ugh. I have a 12 year old and I think she is well on her way to this behavior. Who am I kidding? She is already there! I will do so much and she gets mean regardless. I feel like I am pointing out all the things I do for her all day as she rolls her eyes.

  3. Hmmm. When I need something from my parents, I act especially nice and sweet than usual. I’m always good but it’s funny how my parents, especially my Dad, knew every time I need something or when I will ask something from him. 🙂 Not just to buy stuff but when I’ll ask permission for an out of town trip or anything like that. I miss him. Now I can do just whatever.

  4. Isn’t the attitude just lovely? I love the dramatic sighs I get from our almost 11 year old. One was so bad I asked her if she had a hairball. She didn’t think it was as funny as I did.
