We’re bonding

I spent tonight playing on Neopets.

Yep, Neopets.

My oldest daughter is on there a lot and so I decided I should go on and see what it was all about.

Basically Neopets is an online gaming site where you 'adopt' little virtual pets and then play games and do weird tasks to keep these little pets happy and uh, alive.

As my eldest is getting older it seems like she has less and less she wants to talk to me about.

So now? Now, at least we can talk about Neopets together. Actually what seems to be happening is I get this little Neopet virtual creature in trouble and my daughter bails me out.

If you're ever on there, look me up. My pet is a little unicorn named Capplie.

Yep, I know it's a Saturday night.

What's Tired Papa doing?

He's watching the hockey game with our son.

What can I say? We're just a wild and crazy couple.

But at least our kids are talking to us – about something.

  1. Hi Tired Mama…
That is cool that you can connect with your daughter with the Neopets. I recently logged onto Webkinz and helped my 4 year old to adopt and look after her new pink dragon named Pixie. I hope that I can continue to connect with her in some way just like you do with your kids.

  2. We don’t have kids and were in bed at 10:00 last night reading. I think we have you beat on the “wild and crazy couple” thing. Oh wait! I had a single glass of wine with dinner, does that count for anything?
At least I’m well rested and happy this morning.
    I think you’re a great Mom.

  3. I think you need to mix it up a bit, maybe take a vacation – maybe a cruise or something – that would give you all something to talk about!
