One of the benefits of going back to school full time is that they hand you, along with a student card, a new shiny discount card that you can use at various local retailers.
I was delighted to find that one of the new additions to the card program this year was Swiss Chalet (a local chicken place, for all my non-Ontario friends), and that when I present this card there I will receive a free appetizer.
Now, my kids LOVE Swiss Chalet, and since there is one right next to their piano/guitar lesson place, (I stood in line back in May, so I could get all three kid’s music lessons done with two different teachers, in one place, in one hour ) I can see the Tuesday night rush is now going to include picking up chicken and now, get ready for it… perogies. Yes, perogies(!!) on the way home. Free perogies – it really is pathetic how happy this will make my family.
The plan for Tuesdays now is to pick up the kids at school at 3:50, get them to music lessons from 4:30 – 5:30, drop the chicken and kids off at home and then grab a perogie to savor as I roar out the door for my 7:00 pm class. I love it when a plan comes together.
As for the picture on my student card? We’re not going there. Let it just suffice to say that it makes the one on my drivers license look stellar. This getting older REALLY sucks, but now that I’m getting free perogies, it just doesn’t seem to matter quite so much any more.
