I like words. I like to have them around me and I like them to say things that make me happy.
I have the word, ‘Indulge’ hanging in my kitchen, it is written in silver script and sounds sort of decedent, another word I would like to see in my kitchen.
I recently saw in a magazine how someone had decorated their bedroom by writing in script above their bed, ‘Believe love is forever, and forever you’ll be in love.’ I damn near swooned. For the record I haven’t shown the picture to my husband. This is my idea of romantic but Dave would not get it….not even close. Sigh.
My neighbor has,’ Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away’ written on a sign that is prominently displayed in her back entry way. She has a gorgeous home, which she has obviously decorated with a lot of talent, taste and love, but again it’s the words that have stayed with me.
I want to paint on my girl’s mirror, "If you can dream it, you can do it." when we redo their bathroom. I want them to see it EVERYDAY before they go out the door. I haven’t decided what my son needs to hear daily yet (Kinda tells you something about the day he and I are having). Which leads me to….
About a month ago I saw a sign in a store that I want to buy and put somewhere front and center in my home. It reads, "Be nice or leave." Works for me.
